Our players wanted something lighter, tighter, and more upscale,” said Jacob Rapp, Varsity QB and DB Coach of the Elkhorn South H.S. Storm football team.
Rapp said those factors, along with playability and durability, are what ultimately led to the selection of Under Armour football uniforms for the 2017 season and into the foreseeable future.
The football team at Elkhorn South High School has an Under Armour Highlight Program through The Graphic Edge. The program allows the team to purchase UA uniforms, coach’s apparel, spirit wear, and other garments at significant savings while earning rebate dollars that the team can use to save even more money.
“These are the first new uniforms we’ve had since the school opened in 2010,” said Rapp. “The old ones were getting pretty worn out. We were kind of sewing them back together from year to year.”
Modern Performance, Traditional Styling
When the Elkhorn South Storm take the football field this fall, they’ll be wearing Under Armour Gameday Select Spotlight jerseys – Navy Blue for home games, white for road games.
These particular jerseys were inspired by uniforms worn by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and, according to Coach Rapp, have the perfect combination of traditional styling and school colors paired with the modern fit and performance his players were asking for.
Asked how important these new uniforms would be to his team’s mindset, Rapp said he thought they could have a real impact. “Our guys won’t be distracted by their uniforms anymore,” he explained. “They won’t have to fight a loose jersey or worry about how heavy it’s going to be when it gets wet; they can just focus on the game and making plays.”
